Depression

Depression (Depressive disorder) is a serious mood disorder. It is a very common mood disorder. People with depression can have depressive episodes and people with bipolar (manic depressive disorder) can also have depressive episodes quite frequently.
When somebody has depression it can affect many things such as: eating, sleeping, working, etc. Depression takes a lot out of the body. Research shows that genetic, biological, environmental, and psychological factors play a role in having depression. Anyone can have depression at any age, but it is more common during the adult stages of life.
Depression can be treated. The sooner you start treatment the quicker it helps. Depression is usually treated with medication (antidepressants) or therapy. If you think you may have depression you can start seeking help by seeing your physician.
