I interviewed Adam Keith and Miss Fox about their county choir trip. These are the responses.
County Chorus Interview With: Adam Keith and Miss Fox
By: Lauren Miller
Me: How did you like the experience of county chorus?
Adam: I loved the experience!
Me: Did you have fun performing?
Adam: I would do it again.
Me: Were there any songs you found difficult?
Adam: “Rhythm Of Life”
Me: Would you go again next year?
Adam: Yes!
Me: What is county chorus?
Miss Fox: County Chorus is a one day festival where all schools in a county are invited to bring selected students to perform in a large ensemble after a day of rehearsal. Each school is allowed a certain number of students, and it is up to the director's discretion who has the honor of going. Students are given music to practice beforehand, and come together for only a day to bring the music together for a single, final performance.
Me: How do you think your choir kids performed?
Miss Fox: My kids did amazing! I was so proud of all the hard work each put in that day. What I'm also very proud of is their conduct. They represented the school as kind, hardworking, and friendly students. They made friends with other kids, and showed that Northern Cambria has really great kids.
Me: Are you planning on doing county chorus next year?
Miss Fox: Of course!
Me: What was your favorite part of this year’s county chorus trip?
Miss Fox: Two main things.
First, it was a trip home. I went to Forest Hills, so it was a mini trip home. They had a display case of plaques and pictures, some of which I was in from 2009-2014. It was a nice reminder of what music provided for me as a high school student, and really made me reflect on why I am a music teacher and how I can better serve my students. My music teachers were both there that day, and it was so nice to see them again, too.
Second, it's not often I get to spend a day with some of my kids just enjoying music. That, by far, is my favorite thing.
