Pets of NC Contest Results

As you probably seen from around the hallways or in the classrooms we hosted the first ever Pets of NC Contest. We had a decent amount of participation. We are planning on doing another pet contest in the near future so keep your eyes open for that if you didn’t get to enter our past contest!

By far, Hadley Offner’s dog won the dog category with the majority of the votes, which ended up totaling up to be 27.7%. From the time I sent out the Google Form to the time I closed it, Hadley Offner’s dog, Nugget, led the way. In second place was Mrs. Stewart’s dog with 20%, which wasn’t too far behind first place. In third place was Lauren Daisley’s dog with 16.9%. The rest of the dog pictures only received a handful of votes. We also had other dog entries from Katelyn Feighner, Malia Shutty, and Sheila Dolansky.

It was a close call in the cat category. In the beginning, it was between Madison Piatiak’s cat and Isabella Wargo’s cat, but the winner ended up being Isabella Wargo’s cat. Madison Piatiak’s cat, Tig, had a strong lead in the beginning but she fell a couple percentages short of winning. She had received the majority of the votes that totaled 41.5%. In third place was Teagan and Taylee’s cat with 7.7%. The rest of the cat pictures only received a couple of votes. We also received cat entries from Kiera Boring, Lillian Statler, and Torin Davis.

For our other category we only received two entries. There wasn’t a close race here. Erica Hassen entered her hamster and Dominick Stock entered his bearded dragon. Erica ended with 34.4% and Domini Stock ended up getting a pretty good lead and winning with 65.6%. The bearded dragon ended up getting more than half of the votes. In this category we ended up getting 61 responses. The bearded dragon got 40 and the hamster got 21.

We were very satisfied with the amount of people that participated. We enjoyed hosting this contest and we loved all of the pets. Thank you to everyone who participated and keep on the lookout for the next Pets of NC Contest. We want to give a huge congratulations to all the winners!
