“Farewell Yellow Brick Road”
By: Lauren Miller
“Farewell Yellow Brick Road” is Elton John’s last tour. Elton John is retiring from touring around the world with his music after 52 years. Elton John started touring in 1970. Most songs from this tour were from his album “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.” For Example: “Bennie and the Jets” and “Saturday Night’s Alright” were played at the concert.
Elton’s tour went to quite a few places including PNC Park in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Elton had at least three different outfit changes throughout the concert. Towards the ending of the concert confetti cannons went off releasing gold confetti. It was a very enjoyable concert. I believe anyone who enjoys the rock genre would enjoy going to an Elton John concert.
Elton dedicated some of his songs to other singers like Aretha Franklin. There were also clips from the movie, “Rocketman,” based on Elton John’s Life. Elton John is still a very admirable man at the age of 75. After the “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour Elton talked about retiring and spending time with his husband and kids. Elton has released new songs featuring other artists such as Dua Lipa and Britney Spears.
I had a lot of fun at the concert and I would recommend anyone to listen to a few of his songs on YouTube or Spotify.
