Scary Movie’s Survey

I sent out a survey about scary movies to all grades and teachers. In this survey includes the following movies; The Conjuring, The Black phone, The Shining, The Texas Chain Massacre, Sinister, Insidious, and It. In my survey, I asked questions like what is your favorite scary movie, what do you like most about your favorite movie, what is the scariest movie you watched, what is your favorite type of movie, and for them to rank the previous movies.

I got 41 responses for this survey. Out of the 41 responses 28.2% said their favorite movie was The Conjuring. The second highest percentage was 20.5% and they voted that It is their favorite. The rest of the movies were tied at 5.2% and 2.6%. For my second question, I got multiple different answers as to why they like their favorite movie. Rachel Young said she likes The Conjuring because of “How suspenseful it is.” Megan Nemec said “I liked watching the conjuring because of the way the plot went it wasn't something you could see coming and how everyone was murdered in different ways.” Arla Homady said she likes The Black Phone because “The ending was amazing.” Kiera Boring said “I like this movie because I get scared of ghost movies but not really criminal movies like this. I love how just everything at the end come together and makes it so good.” Lauren Miller’s response as to why she likes The Shining was “I think it’s produced well.” Logan Dumm response as to why he likes The Texas Chain Massacre was “I like Texas.” Johnny Kirsch said “The dude kills people.” Logan Keith said that Insidious is his favorite movie because “Very scary, lots of jumps.” Bella Pozzini said “It just has always been a favorite of mine to watch over all of the options shown.” Arianna Farabaugh said she likes It because "I like the clown and the suspense." Emilia Waugh said “It’s not really all about the scary part of it, it has a good plot that stands on its own and i think that all the characters are really well written. Plus, i’ve read the book and i think that this is the best film adaptation, its directing matches the atmosphere of the book exactly. Love it.”

For my third question I asked what is the scariest movie you watched? The most voted movie was The Conjuring with 38.9%. Coming in at second was The Texas Chain Massacre and It tied at 11.1% The third voted scariest movie was The Shining. The rest of the movies were all tied with 2.8%. Then I asked what is your favorite type of movie? 34.1% said that horror was their favorite, 19.5% said that comedy was their favorite, 17.1% said that romance was their favorite, 9.8% said that action was their favorite, 4.9% said that crime was their favorite, Mystery and thriller were tied for 2.4%. For my last question, I asked them to rate the previous movies one through ten. The majority said that The Conjuring was an 8. The lowest rating was a 1 with 3 people agreeing. For the The Black Phone, the majority vote was an 9. The lowest rating was a 1 with 5 people agreeing. For The Shining, the votes were tied at 1 and 6 with 6 respondents for each one. The majority vote for The Texas Chain Massacre was a 5. The lowest rating was a 1 with 5 people agreeing. Sinister was the lowest movie rated with 8 respondents voting that it’s a 1. The majority vote said that Insidious is a 6. The lowest vote was a 1 with 3 people agreeing. The majority said It was a 9.

The lowest rating was a 1 with 2 people agreeing. From this data we can conclude that The Black phone and It are well liked and popular movies and that Sinister isn’t a well liked movie!
