The week of Oct 21, 2022 multinational company Unilever recalled Dove, Nexxus, Suave, TIGI and TRESemmé spray dry shampoos because of the potential inclusion of benzene, which is a chemical that could possibly cause cancer.

The recall includes products such as: Dove Dry Shampoo Volume and Fullness, Nexxus Dry Shampoo Refreshing mist, Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo Refresh and Revive, and Dove Dry Shampoo Fresh Coconut.

Benzene is a chemical found in glues, paints, gasoline, and many more mechanical products⎼ things you need a mask for. This chemical can cause leukemia and blood cancer, according to the recall. You can be exposed to benzene by inhalation, orally, and through the skin.
