Governor Election by Rebecca Krug
In Pennsylvania, one of the biggest conversational topics recently has been the upcoming elections, specifically the election for Governor. The elections will take place on November 8, 2022. According to spotlightpa.org, the candidates who are running for this position are Josh Shapiro, Democrat; Doug Mastriano, Republican; Christina “PK” DiGiulio, Green Party; Matt Hackenburg, Libertarian; and Joe Soloski, Keystone Party. Currently, the top runners are Josh Shapiro and Doug Mastriano.
To vote in this election, you must be 18 years of age or older. Registering to vote must be done before October 24, 2022. You may register online or with a paper form. The website to register online is https://www.pavoterservices.pa.gov/Pages/VoterRegistrationApplication.aspx. Voting can be done in person, by requesting a mail-in ballot, or an absentee ballot with special circumstances. On election day, polls are open from 7 am to 8 pm (vote.pa.gov). Mail-in ballots must be sent in by November 1, 2022. Be sure to register to vote if you are eligible and vote on election day!
