Josepha Schaedler was born in Waldkirch, St. Gall, Switzerland on March 20, 1862. She entered our convent on February 17, 1884 and was invested with the Benedictine habit June 21, 1884. Her first profession of vows was on September 26, 1885, when she received the name of Sister M. Winifred. Perpetual vows were made on November 11, 1891.
Sister suffered from asthma and was conspicuous in chapel by her heavy, labored breathing, but rarely missed being in her choir stall for Holy Mass and the Divine Office, to the edification of the Sisters and the Academy girls. She died on September 13, 1911 at the age of forty-nine.
