Rose Wiesli was born in Switzerland on June 8, 1866. She entered at Clyde on Oct. 17, 1888 and was admitted to the novitiate on Feb. 10, 1889. At her profession on May 3, 1890 she received the name of Sister M. Margaret, and made perpetual vows five years later on August 24, 1895.
Sister was very self-sacrificing, amiable and kind. In her many years of caring for the chickens at Clyde, she faithfully made the long trek up the hill day after day, in the heat of summer and the bitter cold of winter, happy to be able to keep the community well supplied with eggs and chicken.
Sister also took care of Mother M. John's mother, who lived in the old guest house, until her death in 1910. She was always very conscientious in keeping holy adoration and assisting at the Divine Office. She died of a very painful form of cancer on May 5, 1924 at the age of fifty-eight.
