Margaret Farnan was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on September 8, 1870. She was the fourth child of William Farnan and Catherine Paton Farnan. The family later moved to Conception. She entered our Clyde convent on September 8, 1887, was invested on December 3d the same year, and made her first profession of vows on March 25, 1889, receiving the name of Sister M. Stanislaus. Perpetual vows were made on August 21, 1895.
She and two other sisters taught at the St. Mary's Parish School in St. Joseph, MO from September 1893 to June 1894. She became ill toward the end of the school year and remained in poor health until her death on September 8, 1895. She had desired to die on Mary's feast day and her prayer was answered. . Note that she was born, entered, and died on September 8th - Our Lady's birthday. Was she perhaps a special child of Mary?
