Placida Amstutz was born in Obwalden, Switzerland in 1865. She entered our convent at Clyde on October 17, 1888, and was invested with the Benedictine habit on February 10, 1889. Profession of vows was on May 3, 1890, with the name of Sister M. Hildegard.  She died on September 11th of the following year, at the age of twenty-six.
