Rosa Elm was born in Wisconsin on July 4, 1865 of German-born parents. She entered on September 24, 1885, was invested on Nov. 21, 1885, and professed as Sister M. Lucy on Dec. 15, 1886. She made perpetual vows on Nov. 21, 1893.
Sister was a quiet, saintly, sacrificial, hard-working person; an excellent cook. She spent many years caring for the orphans when our Sisters staffed the orphanage at Conception, and was long remembered for her kindness, love and generosity in providing for the needs of those under her care. The children loved her dearly.
Sister died of pneumonia on May 12, 1924 at the age of fifty-nine.
