Sister M. Hiltrudis was born in Padua, Ohio July 2, 1891 of American born parents. She entered at Clyde on August 27, 1915 and was invested on January 29, 1916. Temporary vows were offered to God on August 24, 1917, and perpetual vows on February 10, 1923. She was a sister of Sister M. Agnes Homan, and a niece of Sisters M. Paula and Bibiana Homan.
Sister is remembered as a quiet, lovable person, hardworking and sacrificial, ever ready for out-door work, rising early in the morning to help with the milking, barn chores, and then separating and hauling the milk to the kitchen. She also helped in the bookbindery and in the garden and was an inspiration to her novitiate companions.
Sister M. Hiltrudis became afflicted with tuberculosis and was an invalid in the infirmary for sometime before succumbing to the disease on September 25, 1924 at the age of thirty-three.
