Sister M. Magdalena Dieterich, one of the early pioneers of our community, was born in Baden, Germany in September, 1852. She was professed on September 29, 1883. Sister was a tall, serious-minded person, exact in keeping the Rule, and a very good cook.
She was part of a group of sisters sent to teach at Boonville, MO, in 1885 and 1886. While there, she died unexpectedly on November 24, 1886 at the age of thirty-four. Her remains were brought back to Clyde on November 27 and her funeral and burial occured that same day.
