Josepha Schildknecht was born at Waldkirch, St. Gallen, Switzerland on July 9, 1858. The date of her entry is not recorded, but she was invested on August 24, 1886 and made profession as Sister M. Anna on November 17, 1887. Perpetual vows were made on November 21, 1893.
Sister spent most of her years with the children at the orphanage, who loved her dearly. She was frail in body, but generous in self-sacrifice. She died in 1912 and no details of her life or death are available. She was fifty-four years old.
Sister was a relative of Sisters M. Benedicta and Leona, and also of Sisters M. Cecilia and Odilia.
