Mary German, one of our early pioneers, was born in 1874 in Canton St. Gall, Switzerland. She entered at Clyde on August 28, 1895 and was invested with the habit of St. Benedict on November 23, 1895. On February 10, 1897 she made her first profession of vows as Sister M. Walburga and died on March 20, 1899 at the age of twenty-five. Presumably her final oblation of vows was made on her deathbed.
We have no data concerning her, but it is possible that she, too, was a victim of tuberculosis, which claimed so many of our young Sisters in those early years.
