Mary Eichenhofer was born in Baden, Germany on December 8, 1884. She was the second of the seven Eichenhofer sisters to enter at Clyde, on October 1, 1902. She was invested April 21,1903 and professed May 26, 1904 as Sister M. Walburga, happy to have this great Benedictine saint as her patron. She made perpetual vows on January 18, 1913.
Sister was of a very happy disposition and radiated joy to others. She was in charge of the laundry at the orphanage for some years. At the convent she had charge of the workmen's house and helped in the garden and the canning room. She was a fervent, sacrificial adorer and a joyous contributor to all community labors.
Sister had a heart attack just before Holy Mass on Jan. 5, 1951 and died a few hours later. She was sixty-eight years old.
