Finance Committee Report

The Finance Committee met on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014. Here are the highlights of that meeting:

Treasurer Joe Ossmann shared the budget report from 11/30/14, which was circulated via email, and reports that the budget picture seems to be good. The treasurer transition from Gary to Joe is close to complete.

Annual Fundraising Appeal Letter Status -- Gary Wolff has the letter, and is waiting for the mailing list from Rick, which he expects to receive this evening. He will send an email with the pdf images of the letter and accompanying elements to the printer. They will provide an exact quote, based on the actual number of recipients. They will need a letter of the scanned check, and then they will go to press.

The committee has established a routine for processing and acknowledging donations.

Regarding Funding for AVP-USA participation at Monmouth Univ. Global Understanding Conference, April 2015 -- Chad described the Global Understanding Conference, held annually at Monmouth University (W. Long Branch NJ), where the theme is Nonviolence. The committee recommends that if Dawn Addy were invited, her travel be supported by the C of C Travel Budget; the committee also recommended that Chad apply to CLARG for a regional grant.

The C of C inquired if there a line item for C of C travel.Yes, the C of C Travel line is line 79, currently with a budget of $2,500.00.

Records Retention: The committee approved the Colorado Nonprofit Development Center Records Retention Policy (based on AICPA policies -- see attached file) as the policy for AVP-USA. The policy is replicated in the October 29, 2014 minutes. Gary and Joe will use this as their model.

The committee will meet next on Tues. Jan. 20th 2015.

Respectfully submitted,

Chad Dell, clerk
