AUGUST 20, 2017 EDUCATION REPORT

1. The Education Committee presented its four goals for 2017-18 in its July Board report.

2. The Education Committee continues to provide support and feedback to the Advanced Topics Team as it works diligently to define its role in education, its objectives, and next steps in accomplishing these objectives.

3. Through brainstorming processes, the Education Committee members have been providing additional suggestions to the Advanced Topics Team as it develops and grows.

4. The Education Committee and specific Teams (such as Advanced Topics Team) are communicating with Dawn, Editor of the Transformer, in preparation for contributions from Education to the upcoming issue of the Transformer.

5. The USA Manual Writers Team continues its work on revising learning activities in the Basic Manual.

6. The Best Practice Team—the joint team of International and USA facilitators —has arranged with the Communication Committee to post the AVP Core Values in English and Spanish on the USA website.

7. The Education Committee is working with the International Education Committee to do the following: (a) develop a solid education online infrastructure, (b) develop an online manual database that is accessible by mobile phone, and (c) support the presence of the Education Committee at the Nepal World Gathering.

8. The Education Collection and Education Technology workgroups are developing plans to move some of the material currently located on wikis into online databases.

9. Other Education Workgroups (viz., Higher Education and Schools, Organizing Guide, Publications, and Spanish Translation) are meeting to define their roles in Education and respective objectives; they also are inviting additional members to help with the work for which they are responsible.
