• • COMMITTEE ACTION re: Security of electronic manuals.

  • Recently, several Facilitators distributed scanned and electronic copies of a workshop manual to a vision-impaired facilitator. While such efforts are applauded, they contradict CofC policy not to distribute manuals in electronic form. We need a process to implement “special case” electronic availability before sending out reminders to our facilitators re: NOT sharing electronic copies.

  • Policy: Exception to CofC policy for vision impaired or other special needs:The Communications Committee will distribute special issue AVP manuals, such as Large Print to facilitators showing a need.

  • Production

    • Large print: We will increase PDF printout size from 8.5 X 11 to 17 X 11, requiring no re-formatting of pages.

    • Very small quantities (1-5) print on demand per batch. Charge "at cost" (we need an estimate).

    • Advertise availability on AVP-L.

• There may be rare cases where we will need to send an electronic copy (eg: for text-to-speech conversion). Terry should be gate-keeper for the distribution of the electronic copies of manuals.

THE TRANSFORMER will be late for the Autumn issue (editorial and distribution constraints). Focus will be on AVP-USA Committees. Most copy will come from the various Intranets. Additional articles can be sent in up to Sept. 15. Publication set for Nov. 1.
