16 May Education Board Report

1. The Committee has planned and submitted descriptions of the World Café sessions/rooms for the 2021 National Gathering in May. Education will have about 10 rooms, as it will be showcasing new and revised manual content and will be collecting new ideas and feedback from World Café participants. If your committee chair has submitted a description to Betty, then it has been included in the overall descriptions.

2. The USA Manual Writers Team continues to make considerable progress in writing drafts for the first six chapters of the new Basic Manual. Members are working in pairs as they write each chapter. During the World Café, we will ask for volunteers to join us in editing, proofreading, and language where necessary.

3. The Education co-chairs have met with Rick and Tino about the development of an Education childsite. The Committee has budgeted funds to compensate Tino for developing the childsite. We have begun planning and developing the childsite page.

4. The co-chairs have updated the Education Strategic Plan to reflect accomplishments in 2020 and ongoing activities (based on our 5-year plan) in Education for our annual report.

5. In partnership with AVP-I, we continue to build the online library structure to include specialized topics, AVP-Training online, and the Continuing Learning Library (or the Red Library).
