· Coached teachers through the UC Doorways course approval process to write standards- based courses in various subjects. A-G approved courses increased schoolwide from 11 to 26.

· Management and coordination of the Fulbright Commission English program in Quito, Ecuador: Managed administrative and teaching staff for a 450 adult student program; Built the program master schedule; Reformed writing curriculum to emphasize process writing and correction with rubrics; Revised and implemented changes in the TOEFL preparation course curriculum; Conducted staff development workshops on reading instruction, new trends in language and teaching, classroom management, and lesson planning at the Universidad Central, Universidad Catolica, Argentina TESOL (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and FENEPIUPE; Managed public relations for the English Department, including presenting the program to various businesses, maintaining contacts with book distributors, representing Fulbright at international TESOL conferences and addressing student concerns

Teacher Training and Professional Development

· Teach World Language Methodology course for Santa Clara University with focus on applying theory to instructional practice. Organize instruction in a workshop format to both model best teach practices, give students the opportunity to practice best teaching practices and provide students with material to use in their student teaching placements. Coach students to create standards-based world language instruction for Spanish learners and heritage speakers that aligns with CCSS and proven language acquisition stages.

· Design and deliver professional development for the teacher induction program that focuses on growth mindset, and use of Critical Friends group protocols to review student work and receive and provide feedback on lesson design.

· Design and implement a teaching lab component to a world language methodology course that provides opportunities for students to teach, to receive feedback on teaching strategies and application of standards, and to work collaboratively with colleagues to reflect on teaching practice

· Incorporate a storytelling based component to both teacher induction and teacher training courses to aid new teachers in the identification of strengths and areas of growth

Categorical Funding, Charter School Funding and Budget Management
