Curriculum and Instruction

· Provided start-up support to open a new charter school, including drafting student handbooks, writing PCSGP grants for additional funding, attending recruitment events and hiring staff.

· Coached teachers through the UC Doorways course approval process to write standards- based courses in various subjects. A-G approved courses increased schoolwide from 11 to 26.

Teacher Training and Professional Development

· Teach World Language Methodology course for Santa Clara University with focus on applying theory to instructional practice. Organize instruction in a workshop format to both model best teach practices, give students the opportunity to practice best teaching practices and provide students with material to use in their student teaching placements. Coach students to create standards-based world language instruction for Spanish learners and heritage speakers that aligns with CCSS and proven language acquisition stages.

· Team teach and teach demo lessons for participating teachers in the induction program, including teaching ELD reading to small groups on a regularbasis

· Design and deliver professional development for the teacher induction program that focuses on growth mindset, and use of Critical Friends group protocols to review student work and receive and provide feedback on lesson design.

· Design and implement a teaching lab component to a world language methodology course that provides opportunities for students to teach, to receive feedback on teaching strategies and application of standards, and to work collaboratively with colleagues to reflect on teaching practice
