1.1 The Clear Teaching credential program was a comprehensive professional development experience that enabled employed, full-time TK-12 Catholic school teachers of academic subjects the ability to earn their Preliminary and Clear teaching credentials and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree.
The Preliminary credential component required completion of 43 units of Department of Education coursework, designed to support the development of a candidate's teaching practices. All additional credential requirements are reviewed over the course of the student's academic career.
The Clear credential program consisted of a 12-unit, 4-quarter sequence of courses completed over one calendar year. The coursework provided in this phase focused on the integration of theory and practice in the TK-12 classroom.
*In 2016-17 the program described above ceased admitting candidates for the Clear Credential program. Upon review, revision, and resubmission of the Clear / Induction standards to CTC, we will reopen the program in a revised format.
