GIL-Find and Alma URL Redirects

OVERVIEW

This section describes how GIL and GIL-Find URLs redirect to Alma and Primo.

The GIL-Find URLs (for example, gilfind.gsu.edu), redirect* to their corresponding Primo URLs.

For example:

gilfind.ung.edu points to galileo-ung.primo.exlibrisgroup.com

gilfind.asurams.edu points to galileo-asurams.primo.exlibrisgroup.com

... etc

The GIL Classic URLs (for example, gil.gsu.edu) behavior is the same as above. These also route to their corresponding Primo URLs.

For example:

gil.ung.edu points to galileo-ung.primo.exlibrisgroup.com

gil.asurams.edu points to galileo-asurams.primo.exlibrisgroup.com

gil.[institutionx].edu/staff points to Alma's external auth URL.

If you need to log in using Alma's internal authentication, you'll need to use gil.[institutionx].edu/internal. Note that depending which external authentication method you utilize, the internal link may not work once you've logged in using external auth. You'll need to clear your browser cookies or use an incognito window (in Chrome) to utilize internal auth.

Examples:

gil.uga.edu/staff will point to galileo-uga.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/CAS

gil.uga.edu/internal will point to galileo-uga.alma.exlibrisgroup.com

*Please note that you will still see the current Primo or Alma URL in your browser address bar, as these are just redirects. The primary purpose is to provide a simple way to get to your Primo or Alma instances, so you don't have to remember the long form URLs:

Universal Catalog URLS

The universal catalog URLs (gilfind.usg.edu and giluc.usg.edu) point to an informational page with links to all of the USG primo instances, since technically the UC is now built-into each Primo instance via a search scope:
