OpenAthens Guest Accounts

OVERVIEW

The GALILEO password is no longer shown in Primo (for most institutions), due to the fact that we are now using OpenAthens to gain access to GALILEO resources. Typically, in order to log in via OpenAthens, patrons must have a campus login. But your institution may have some patrons who do not have campus logins. For instance: visiting scholars. These patrons previously would've been given temporary internal Alma accounts which allowed them to log into Primo in order to view the GALILEO password. Since the GALILEO password no longer appears in Primo, the new procedure is to create guest accounts for these special patrons in OpenAthens.
