OVERVIEW

Some institutions work with vendors who handle binding of periodicals/serials etc. These vendors may utilize software that integrates with Alma. An example of this is ABLE, which connects to Alma via z39.50. GIL has preconfigured z39.50 for all institutions, so there isn't anything that needs to be done for this integration other than informing the vendor how to connect to your z39.50 server. Your Z39.50 info is as follows:

Address: Your Alma URL, for example: galileo-valdosta.alma.exlibrisgroup.com
Port: 1921
Database: Your institution code. For example: 01GALI_VALDOSTA. You can find your institution code in Alma by:
- In Alma, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner ( It says "Open Alma configuration" when highlighted)
- On the left hand side, click "General"
- Under Libraries, click "Add a Library or Edit Library Information"
- Your institution code will be in the "code" field on the Summary tab:
