Alma Releases

With Voyager, GIL Staff had to periodically update each instance on our local servers, a process which took weeks of prep and followup work, and included service interruptions. This is not the case with Alma. Alma is a cloud based multi-tenant system that has quarterly feature releases and monthly release to resolve issues. Ex Libris will first update our Alma sandboxes a week before the production release, and they will publish release notes for review at that time. These notes will be reviewed/discussed in the GIL Support monthly meetings.
