NSWCPS Maroon Award for Excellence in Swimming
Romee Lee has demonstrated outstanding talent, determination, and sportsmanship in swimming throughout 2024. Her exceptional achievements at diocesan, state, and national levels highlight her commitment to excellence and her ability to excel at the highest level of competition.
At the 2024 NSW PSSA Swimming Championships, Romee’s strong performances earned her silver medals in the 50m Butterfly and 200m Individual Medley, a bronze in the 50m Freestyle, and additional top finishes in the 50m Backstroke and Breaststroke. These results secured her a spot on the NSW team for the School Sport Australia Swimming Championships, where she delivered remarkable performances on the Gold Coast.
Competing at the national level, Romee won two gold medals as part of the 200m Freestyle and Medley Relays, with her relay team breaking the Australian record in the 200m Freestyle Relay. Individually, she secured silver medals in the 50m and 100m Butterfly, as well as the 200m Individual Medley, and earned a bronze medal in the 100m Backstroke. These results reflect her technical skill, resilience, and ability to perform under pressure.
Romee’s dedication to swimming has been recognised this year. At the 2024 Sydney Metropolitan Swimming Carnival, she was named the 10 Years Girls Winter Age Champion and was the recipient of the Sydney Catholic Schools Outstanding Student in Sport Award. Romee has proven herself to be a versatile and committed athlete. Her ability to balance her achievements in swimming with her school responsibilities and other pursuits underscores her discipline and strong work ethic.
