NSWCCC Blue Award for Excellence in Volleyball
Emelia Dunn has had an exceptional year in volleyball, showcasing her immense talent, leadership, and dedication to the sport. In 2024, Emelia played a vital role on the NSWCCC Open Volleyball team, where her athleticism and teamwork were instrumental in the team’s success. Her outstanding performances earned her a spot on the prestigious NSW All Schools Merit Team as a middle blocker, highlighting her skills at the highest level of school competition.
Emelia’s volleyball journey extended beyond school competitions as she was selected for the U17 NSW team to compete at the Australian Youth Volleyball Championships, demonstrating her abilities on the national stage. Further cementing her reputation as a rising star, Emelia was invited to join the U18 National Squad Performance Program, where she will train and compete with the country’s top young volleyball players in December.
Her commanding presence on the court is matched by her positive attitude and sportsmanship. Emelia’s ability to motivate her teammates, coupled with her natural leadership qualities, makes her a respected figure among her peers and coaches. Whether through powerful blocks or strategic plays, Emelia consistently delivers outstanding performances that elevate her team.
Beyond her sporting achievements, Emelia is a valued member of her school community. She contributes by mentoring younger students, representing Colin House at school events, and participating actively in her school’s swimming, athletics, and cross-country carnivals. She embodies the College motto, Virtus Super Omnia, embracing truth, diligence, and honour in all that she does.
