Jessica Johnston

Jessica Johnston has had an extraordinary year in athletics, achieving remarkable success at school, regional, state, national, and international levels. At the CGSSSA and IGSA Championships, she dominated the senior division, securing multiple gold medals and breaking records in Discus and Shot Put. A versatile and highly accomplished athlete, Jessica set new records at the New South Wales Combined Catholic Colleges Championships, where she won gold medals in Discus, Shot Put, and Javelin, also claiming the 17+ Age Champion title. At the New South Wales All Schools Championships, Jessica displayed her incredible versatility, taking home silver in Discus, bronze in Hammer and Javelin, and finishing 4th in Shot Put.

Her stellar performances at the New South Wales State and Regional Championships solidified her as one of the most consistent and outstanding athletes in the state, earning numerous podium finishes and breaking regional records. At the Australian Track and Field Championships, Jessica continued to shine, earning a silver medal in the U18 Discus, placing 7th in the Opens Discus, and securing top placements in Shot Put and Hammer Throw. Additionally, at the Australian All Schools Championships, she placed 1st in the Under 18s 1kg Discus Throw, further solidifying her dominance in the sport.

Jessica is also the 2024 U18 Oceania Discus Champion, where she set a personal best of 48.93m, highlighting her exceptional talent in the event.

Jessica’s contributions extend beyond her individual success. She is a valuable member of the New South Wales Combined Catholic Colleges Opens Netball Team, showcasing her dedication to representing her school and community with excellence across multiple sports. As a role model, she inspires her peers with her commitment, resilience, and sportsmanship, embodying the values of hard work and humility.
