NSWCCC Blue Award for Excellence in Swimming
Isobel Mulcahy has had an extraordinary year in swimming, exemplifying dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to excellence in both her sporting and academic pursuits. As Monte’s 15 Years Age Champion and Open 200m Individual Medley record holder, Isobel has consistently demonstrated her talent and determination. Her success extends far beyond school-level competitions, with her achievements at the NSW All Schools and School Sport Australia Swimming Championships solidifying her place as one of the state’s most accomplished swimmers.
At the New South Wales Combined Catholic Colleges Championships, Isobel claimed a gold medal in the 400m Freestyle and silver in both the 200m IM and 50m Backstroke. She continued her success at the NSW All Schools Championships, where she secured first place in the 800m and 1500m Freestyle, silver in both the 400m IM and 400m Freestyle, and bronze in the 200m Backstroke. Representing NSW at the School Sport Australia Championships, Isobel medalled in every event she contested, earning three silver medals in the 400m, 800m, and 1500m Freestyle, as well as bronze in the 400m IM. These remarkable results are a testament to her discipline, resilience, and work ethic.
Isobel’s success extends beyond the pool; she is a true all-rounder, representing her school in swimming, cross country, triathlon, and athletics. Her ability to balance academic achievements with extensive sporting commitments is commendable. Isobel’s participation in the 2024 Olympic Trials and her distinction as the first female to compete in the NSW All Schools Open 1500m and 800m Freestyle events further exemplify her trailblazing spirit.
