Jared Haywood has had an exceptional year in 2024, showcasing remarkable talent, leadership, and dedication in the sport of touch football. Representing the Parramatta Diocese, Jared played a pivotal role in his team’s performance at the NSWCCC Championships, earning him selection to the NSWCCC U/18 team for the second consecutive year. His contributions at the National Youth Championships were outstanding, helping lead the team through an undefeated pool stage and ultimately guiding them to the semi-finals in a hard-fought match against Queensland.
As a highly skilled middle player, Jared’s fitness, tactical awareness, and ability to read the game are unparalleled for someone his age. His precise pass selection, strategic targeting of opposition weaknesses, and decision-making in both attack and defense greatly enhanced the team’s performance throughout the championship. Jared’s leadership extended beyond gameplay as he mentored and supported his teammates, sharing his experience from playing Men’s Opens Premier League with Penrith and representing the NSW Emerging Blues U/20 squad.
In addition to his success in touch football, Jared’s versatility as an athlete was showcased by his selection to the prestigious Australian Schoolboys Rugby League team.
