Rose Marchant

Rose Marchant has demonstrated extraordinary talent, dedication, and leadership in softball throughout 2024. Her remarkable achievements at diocesan, state, and national levels, coupled with her humility and commitment to her team and school, highlight her as a truly outstanding athlete and role model.

As the pitcher for the Polding Girls Softball Team, Rose was instrumental in leading her team to victory at the NSWPSSA Softball Championships, securing back-to-back championships. Her exceptional pitching performances dominated the competition, and her tactical game sense, strong batting, and speed on base consistently put her team in winning positions. Rose’s contributions as both a player and a leader were pivotal, earning her selection to the NSW Girls Softball Team that went on to win the National Championship in Cairns.

Rose’s dedication to softball extends beyond school representation. She is a member of the NSW Under 14s Girls Softball Squad, preparing to compete at the national level in January 2025, and she represents the North Shore Girls Under 14s Softball Team at state titles. These accomplishments reflect her ongoing commitment to improving her skills and excelling in her sport.

In addition to her achievements in softball, Rose has excelled across a range of sports, including AFL, netball, athletics, and cross country, demonstrating her versatility as an athlete. She represented NSW in AFL, earning a gold medal with the MNCI Girls AFL Team and competing at the National Championships. Despite balancing her demanding schedule, Rose has maintained excellence in her academic work, exemplifying her determination and strong work ethic.

Rose’s positive attitude, humility, and sense of humor have made her a respected leader among her peers. As a proud representative of Our Lady Star of the Sea, Rose exemplifies the values of sportsmanship, resilience, and teamwork, both on and off the field.
