NSWCCC Blue Award for Excellence in Cross Country
Jack Caldwell has had an extraordinary year in cross country and triathlon, solidifying his place as one of the country’s most talented and dedicated student-athletes. Representing New South Wales Combined Catholic Colleges with distinction, Jack secured first place in the 18+ category at both the New South Wales Combined Catholic Colleges and New South Wales All Schools Cross Country Championships. He also had the honour of captaining the New South Wales team at the Australian All Schools Cross Country Championships in Melbourne, where he earned individual silver and contributed to New South Wales’ gold medal victories in both the team and relay events.
Jack’s accomplishments extend far beyond cross country, as he also excels in triathlon and athletics. In 2024, he was named the New South Wales Captain for both Triathlon and Cross Country, competing at the Australian All Schools Triathlon Championships, where he earned individual silver and relay silver for New South Wales. His athletic excellence also includes victories in the New South Wales Combined Catholic Colleges Senior Triathlon and 1500m events, alongside a second-place finish in the New South Wales All Schools 5000m. Jack’s remarkable achievements were recognised with the prestigious Commonwealth Games New South Wales Athlete Grant, and he has been identified as a Target Talent Athlete by Triathlon Australia, earning a spot in the New South Wales Triathlon Development Squad.
Jack’s commitment to sport is matched by his dedication to his school and community. Balancing a demanding training schedule with Year 12 studies, he consistently exemplifies perseverance, discipline, and humility. As a volunteer firefighter with the New South Wales Rural Fire Service, Jack demonstrates the values of service and leadership, inspiring those around him with his work ethic and sportsmanship.
