Henry Jones has demonstrated exceptional talent, leadership, and commitment to hockey throughout 2024, earning him the prestigious New South Wales Combined Catholic Colleges Blue Award. As captain of the New South Wales Combined Catholic Colleges Opens Hockey Team, Henry led with remarkable maturity and strategic insight, inspiring his teammates with his dedication and team-first mentality. His ability to adapt to various roles within the team highlighted his unselfish attitude and strong work ethic, playing a significant role in the team’s success at the NSW All Schools Tri-Series. His outstanding performance at this event earned him a place on the NSW All Schools Open Merit Team, a testament to his elite skill and competitive drive.
Henry’s achievements in 2024 extend far beyond the school pathway. As part of the U18 NSW Indoor and Outdoor teams, he played a pivotal role in securing National Championships and represented NSW with distinction on the national stage. Competing in the Illawarra Premier League and Open Men's State Championships, Henry consistently showcased his ability to perform in high-pressure environments, further solidifying his reputation as one of the state’s premier young hockey talents.
In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Henry exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding student and community leader. A natural role model, he has proudly served his school, consistently stepping up to represent the College in sporting, academic, and leadership capacities. As a nominee for College Captain, Henry has earned the recognition of both teachers and peers for his character, dedication, and commitment to positively impacting his community.
