NSWCPS Maroon Award for Excellence in Rugby League
Lachlan Chappell has demonstrated extraordinary talent, dedication, and sportsmanship in rugby league throughout 2024. As the youngest member of the NSW PSSA Under 12s Rugby League Team and the only 11-year-old to be selected, Lachlan’s achievements are a testament to his remarkable skill, determination, and maturity both on and off the field.
Representing MacKillop in the NSWPSSA Under 11s Carnival, Lachlan displayed outstanding athleticism and leadership. His exceptional performances earned him selection to the prestigious NSWPSSA Rugby League Development Camp at St. Gregory’s College, Campbelltown. Lachlan’s hard work and determination at camp led to his selection in the NSWPSSA Opens Rugby League Team.
Competing at the School Sport Australia Opens Rugby League Championship in Canberra, Lachlan played a crucial role in the NSW team’s success, helping them secure the title of joint Australian Champions. As a winger, Lachlan’s blistering pace, agility, and ability to score scintillating tries made him a constant threat to opposition defenses. His coachable attitude, sportsmanship, and quiet yet confident demeanor earned him the respect of his teammates, opponents, and coaches alike.
