Lucie Francis is a remarkable athlete whose exceptional achievements in cross country have earned her the prestigious New South Wales Combined Catholic Colleges Blue Award for 2024. Her dedication, resilience, and leadership have distinguished her as one of the finest competitors in her sport.
In 2024, Lucie claimed first place at the New South Wales Combined Catholic Colleges Cross Country Championships and second at the New South Wales All Schools Cross Country Championships. These outstanding results earned her a place on the New South Wales team for the School Sport Australia Nationals. As the NSW Cross Country Team Captain, Lucie led by example, securing a top-10 individual finish and contributing to silver medal performances in both the team and relay events.
Lucie’s illustrious career spans over a decade, during which she has represented New South Wales at the highest levels since the age of 12. Her remarkable accomplishments include competing at the Australian Athletics Championships, World Cross Country Trials, and the World Triathlon Multisport Championships, where she earned a silver medal in the duathlon. Lucie’s legacy at School Sport Australia is unparalleled, and she continues to represent her state with pride, inspiring younger athletes through her leadership and sportsmanship.
In her final year at this level, Lucie has solidified her legendary status through her exceptional performances and mentorship of her peers. Balancing a demanding training schedule with her academic commitments, Lucie has also served as the New South Wales Combined Catholic Colleges Cross Country Team Captain and as Senior Sports Leader at OLMC. Her leadership, maturity, and commitment to excellence set a shining example for all.
