NSWCPS Maroon Award for Excellence in Hockey
Evie Ekert has consistently demonstrated exceptional talent, leadership, and dedication in hockey, achieving remarkable success throughout 2024. Her outstanding performances at diocesan, state, and national levels reflect her commitment to excellence and her ability to inspire and lead her teammates.
As a key player for the Polding Girls Hockey Team, Evie has been instrumental in their success over the past two years. In 2023, she contributed to the team’s undefeated Gold Medal victory at the NSWPSSA Championships in Tamworth. In 2024, as Co-Captain, Evie led the team to another Gold Medal at the NSWPSSA Championships in Newcastle, showcasing her leadership and ability to perform under pressure. A dynamic striker and midfielder, Evie’s skill, control, and speed consistently outplayed her opposition, making her an invaluable asset to her team.
Evie’s excellence extends beyond team competitions. Selected for the NSWPSSA Hockey Team, Evie represented her state with distinction, helping her team secure a silver medal during a highly competitive week in Cairns. Her dedication to the sport and her ability to deliver exceptional performances at the highest levels underscore her remarkable talent and work ethic.
Off the field, Evie is a role model and a dedicated team player. Her positive attitude, determination, and commitment to teamwork have earned her the respect of her peers and coaches alike.
