NSWCCC Bar Award for Excellence in Triathlon
Lucie Francis has had an extraordinary year in triathlon, demonstrating exceptional talent and unwavering dedication to her sport. In 2024, Lucie was crowned the NSWCCC Senior Individual Triathlon Champion and secured a podium finish at the NSW All Schools Triathlon Championships, placing 3rd overall and earning a spot on the NSW All Schools team for Nationals. At the Australian All Schools Championships in Rockingham, Western Australia, Lucie delivered an outstanding performance, finishing in the top 10 individually and earning a silver medal as part of the Senior Mixed Relay Team.
Lucie’s leadership qualities were formally recognised when she was named the NSW All Schools Team Captain for 2024. Her ability to inspire and unite her teammates is a testament to her maturity, humility, and commitment to fostering a positive and supportive team environment.
Beyond her achievements in school competitions, Lucie excelled on the world stage, securing a silver medal at the World Triathlon Multisport Championships in the Duathlon event held in Townsville. She also claimed victory at the NSW Duathlon Championships, cementing her status as one of the country’s premier emerging triathletes.
As a Triathlon Australia Emerging Talent athlete, Lucie has consistently showcased her prowess across multiple sports, including Athletics and Cross Country. She balances a demanding training schedule with academic commitments and her role as Sports Leader on her school’s Student Leadership Team, embodying the true spirit of a well-rounded athlete.
Lucie’s journey is defined by her resilience, determination, and ability to excel under pressure. Her achievements in 2024 reflect her tireless commitment to her sport and her ability to inspire others through her actions.
