Gettysburg College

Gettysburg is a fantastic small school, located in the historic village of Gettysburg. They have a friendly, community-oriented atmosphere and competent, caring professors. In general, the administration is cohesive and responsive. Due to its small size, they are exclusively dedicated to undergraduates, and offer countless opportunities for leadership and self-discovery. The small class size promotes an emphasis on discussion, and students tend to be enthusiastic and overcommitted. Their study abroad program is amazing, and outside of class Greek life dominates.

• Students take a first- year seminar where they can work closely with a faculty member and develop a variety of skills such as writing, speaking, critical thinking, and quantitative reasoning

Fun fact / campus tradition: First-Year Walk; members of the Gettysburg college community walk with first-year students each fall to the National Cemetery to hear the Gettysburg Address to commemorate the same walk taken in 1863 by college students to hear President Lincoln.
