3-2 Programs

A 3-2 program is where you do 3 years at a liberal arts college and 2 years at an engineering university. Instead of graduating with only 1 degree you would graduate with both a liberal arts degree and an engineering degree. These programs give you the best of both liberal arts colleges and engineering universities. You would get the benefits of the smaller school and community before the larger school and will have both technical knowledge and “soft skills” like creativity and critical thinking. These types of programs are good for introducing you into new disciplines and majors you might not have considered before. (Example: - set on doing software engineering but realize you also love medieval history) A handful of schools offer this but it isn’t an automatic acceptance into the engineering school. (Some schools still do have that but for the most part you would fill out another application during your junior year.
