Sewanee - The University of the South

Sewanee is a small, rural school with a demanding education. To balance that challenge, professors are passionate and approachable, with a solid administration. Steeped in the Southern academic tradition, they have a strict honor code and students dress up for class. The campus also has a renowned Theology School. Beautiful Campus, located on 13,000 acres on Tennessee's Cumberland Plateau, there are lots of opportunities to engage with nature.

Academic approach: Private/liberal arts, with a holistic philosophy. Religious affiliation with the Episcopal Church, but encourages religious diversity.

Fun fact / campus tradition: Sewanee’s campus includes 13,000 acres of natural land known as “the Domain.” Students have opportunities through the Sewanee Outing Program to go hiking, climbing, caving, and cycling on a regular basis.
