Brandeis embraces a policy of academic flexibility, so undergrads can study whatever they want, which allows students to explore dual degrees or additional interests. Coursework is challenging yet rewarding, and professors are insightful and responsive. Academics definitely take priority on campus, but there are still plenty of opportunities for fun. There is no Greek life allowed, but they have lots of clubs and community service organizations, and Boston is nearby for easy city access. Students are kind-hearted and care for each other.

Beyond the Classroom
The Department of Community Service connects Brandeis students with volunteering opportunities beyond campus—through service clubs, Waltham Group programs, alternative breaks, and more.
The Experiential Learning and Teaching program allows students, faculty, and community members to collaborate while tackling social issues.
Undergraduates can assist with faculty research, lead their own research projects, and co-author papers by graduation. The Undergraduate Research and Creative Collaborations connects students in the School of Arts and Sciences, and librarians provide subject-specific guidance.
The average Brandeis student does 2 or 3 internships with the help of the Hiatt Career Center.
Study abroad through a Brandeis-led program (Art in Siena or Business in Copenhagen), an approved affiliate, or new program altogether.
