Union is a historic liberal arts college on a beautiful campus. It offers lots of research opportunities and has a small but strong engineering department. Union doesn’t have teaching assistants: professors do all the instructing and are truly interested in their students, providing plenty of support with an open door policy. Building a sense of community is important to the overall experience, and students are assigned to houses (think Harry Potter) which foster that.
Popular majors / known for: Engineering, Economics, Psychology, Political Science
Academic approach: Liberal arts with an emphasis on interdisciplinary learning
Campus tradition: The student-run Springfest features an array of music from contemporary performers and bands. Past festivals have included Talib Kweli, Gin Blossoms, Guster, Gym Class Heroes, Matt Nathanson, Neon Trees, Robert Randolph, the Roots, Sean Kingston, State Radio, the Wailers, Wyclef Jean and Wynter Gordon.
