Diverse Schools

Most schools claim to be “diverse,” but how can you tell if a school actually enrolls students of color? How can you determine if students of color are supported, rather than being put on an artificial pedestal? It can be tough, but the demographic breakdown, the existence of affinity groups on campus, and the experiences of current students can give you some insight. These CollegePoint schools further exemplify a commitment to diversity by offering specialized visit programs, unique orientation activities for students of color, and/or active multicultural resource centers.

All of the following colleges have a student population where no racial background comprises more than 60%. While statistics fail to fully encapsulate the range of student experiences, we have included the racial/ethnic breakdown of the student body, as well as graduation rates by racial group, in the pages below. You will also find the percentage of students who are eligible for the Federal Pell Grantawarded only to those students with “exceptional financial need”as a marker of the socioeconomic diversity of the school.
