Knox is a well-rounded liberal arts college that values independent initiative, while staying true to its progressive roots. Classes are rigorous, and lots of time is spent studying, but the academic challenge is largely noncompetitive. Students have space to learn and grow on their own. Has a somewhat quirky campus feel, with lots to explore!

Popular majors / known for: Creative Writing, Biology, Business, Psychology

Academic approach: Liberal arts. Knox is especially focused on hands-on learning opportunities. To that end, all students have access to a $2,000 Power of Experience Grant to use their junior or senior year towards an internship, research opportunity, study abroad program, or other qualified experience. They also offer some really interesting Immersion Experiences, like Clinical Psychology Term, Startup Term, and Open Studio Term

Campus tradition: Flunk Day! Every spring, there’s a day (not announced in advance) when classes are cancelled and everyone spends the day participating in fun activities on campus.
