Aspects of Diversity
Agnes Scott is historically a women’s college, but according to the College Statement on Gender Expression and Gender Identity, “Agnes Scott College is a diverse and inclusive community that strives to provide a safe learning environment for all students, including those who challenge gender norms within our society.” The Scottie Safe Zone program aims to create an inclusive environment for LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, and staff.
The Center for Global Diversity and Inclusion offers signature programming for heritage/history months, trainings, faculty resources, and a student lounge.
ASC has been selected as a Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation campus that engages students and the local community in action towards racial justice.
Students promote campus-wide inclusion through groups such as the President’s Student Advisory Council on Diversity and the Coalition of Student Multicultural Organizations.
Diversity does not stop with the students: 28.6% of the current tenure-track faculty identify as POC, an increase of 8.6% from 2015.
