They’re known for their business program and definitely have a focus on sports: students say if you don’t love basketball, you’ll feel left out. In addition to a great basketball team, they have 17 other D1 varsity sports, so there’s definitely that sports culture. The school has strong Jesuit traditions – emphasizing holistic education – and can be overly religious at times, which is good to be aware of.

Music and Performing Arts Opportunities
Gonzaga has been accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) since 2013. NASM accreditation ensures that schools are meeting national standards for music schools.

More than 800 students participate in music on campus each year, so there is ample opportunity for students from all majors to participate in ensembles and take private lessons from the music faculty.
The Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center, opened in 2019, features a 750-seat concert hall, a 150-seat recital hall, and a choral rehearsal hall.
Outside dance opportunities include ZagDance (after school program for youth), Dance for Parkinson’s (helping Parkinson’s patients through movement), and the Gonzaga Repertory Dance Company.
