Lonely Road
Acrylic Paint
12 x 10 in
My idea for this piece was to use inspiration from a skyscape that I saw on the highway. The clouds formed a shape that almost seemed like a face, which inspired me to create a piece that shows a face looking down on someone driving, as I was looking up at the sky. I used warm and cool colors to contrast each other.
I used acrylic paint on this piece, which is one of my favorite materials to use especially on pieces where I want a nice vibrant pay off from the colors like this one.
This piece changed a lot as I created it because I didn't originally plan on having the face be a full real face and I wanted it to just be made out of clouds but it evolved as I created it. With this piece I originally also had planned to mostly keep the colors either cool or warm but I ended up using the green between the warm and cool colors to make them work together more smoothly and to emphasize the trees as well.
