This is my first sustained investigation, I decided to draw hands holding up a heart. I chose to make this because I think the details on hands are super cool to capture in drawings so I wanted to do that for my first sustained investigation. I chose to do the hands in this position because I saw a picture of hands in a similar position and I thought it would look cool.

I used completely graphite on this piece including the corners which I used water soluble graphite for but I'm not super happy with they way it turned out, I thought it would blend a lot more into the paper. I used a 4H pencil all over the hands first then went in with a B pencil on the darker areas of the hands then on the much darker joint areas I used a 2B pencil.

I used a different process on this project than I have on any other one, I tried to use tiny circles all over to allow for easy shading but I think I had to have made them smaller because they are still too visible and it took forever to draw them all. I like how I made the joints darker but I had trouble getting all the details of the wrinkles in and I think it got a little to dark in some areas.
